In this Help, GoodXXX.exe refer to Cowering's DOS good tools not GoodWindows.

HOW TO SET GOODWINDOWS
----------------------
1. If you want to use it to scan with a Cowering's tool, select 'Good Tools' in the Mode section.
2. Choose a system you want to scan under 'Choose System'. This will open a new window where you'll have to search for a GoodXXX.exe on your HD. Do this for all systems you want to scan.
3. Later, if you want to change a path to any GoodXXX.exe, select the system, click on 'Settings' and 'Change Path to GoodXXX.exe'.
4. Open 'Setting' and check 'Show Dos Windows' if you want to see your GoodXXX.exe in action when you're scanning.

That's all for the setting. It was easy, isn't it?

HOW TO SCAN WITH A GOODTOOLS
----------------------------
1. Choose 'Good Tools' in the 'Mode' section.
2. Choose the system you want to scan under 'Choose System'. Make sure you set it before.
3. Set the directory to scan under 'Directory to work on'. This should be the folder containing the xxxren folder.
4. Choose any flags in 'Options'. (They will be explained later.)
5. Click the big button at the bottom name 'Exectute: GoodXXX.exe'

HOW TO COMPARE MISSINGS ROMS
----------------------------
If you ever used Compare.exe, it's the same thing.
1. Select 'Tool' in the menu.
2. Choose 'Compare *miss.txt | *have.txt'. Here a list of case that tell you when you should use *have.txt or *miss.txt compare

c1. Both of you are including everything (from goodinfo.cfg)
u1. Both Miss & Have compare will work perfectly.
c2. Both of you are excluding the same roms (from goodinfo.cfg)
	u2. Use Miss Compare.
c3. He's excluding roms and you include everything.
u3. Use HAVE compare to know the file that YOU have to DOWNLOAD, and use MISS Compare to know the file YOU have to UPLOAD.
c4. He's including everything, and you are excluding roms.
u4. Use MISS compare to know the file that YOU have to DOWNLOAD, and use HAVE compare to know the file YOU have to UPLOAD.
c5. Both of you are excluding roms, but not the same (ex. he's excluding bad dump, you are excluding Japanese)
u5. There is no way to make a perfect compare, but HAVE compare will be the most accurate one.

3. A new window will appear, open your friend's missing list and your in the 'File' menu.
5. Click the 'Compare Miss Files' in the center of the window.
6. You can save the new lists in 'Save', and make a folder with files your friend is missing.

HOW TO EXPORT TO A FTP CLIENT QUEUE FILE
----------------------------------------
1. If you have a XXXMiss.txt file, load it. If not, scan your roms (HOW TO SCAN WITH A GOOD TOOLS) and load it.
2. Select 'Tools' then 'Export' then 'FTP Client download file'.
3. Choose your FTP Client. (BulletProofFTP or LeapFTP)
4. Enter the path to the roms (on the FTP) then, if you chose LeapFTP, you have to enter the path to YOUR roms folder too.

6. Click 'EXPORT'.

TROUBLESHOOTING
---------------

Q. Why can't I rename my rom when in ROM Doctor mode?
A. GoodWindows isn't a renamer in itself, for the goodtools, Goodwindows give the appropriate parameter to goodxxx so goodxxx can rename, scan. list etc..., ROM Doctor is a Win32 application, and it doesn't support command line, there is no way to tell ROM Doctor to rename your rom beside doing it yourself. And I'm not gonna try to decrypt the ROM Doctor *.RDB and create another renamer. In ROM Doctor mode, you can only do action with the file created by ROM Doctor (*_miss.txt, *_have.txt). Like Exporting a ftp download file, comparing missing file.

Q. Why does goodwindows freeze when I try to created a list of known rom (GoodTools Mode)?
A. Download the bin.zip file from the web page & put the three dll it containt in the bin directory.

Q. When should I use "Compare Having File" or "Compare Missing File"?
A. There is 5 case that could happen when you compare.

Q. My goodxxx keep getting deleted after I generate a list of known rom?
A. Never ever put anything in the bin folder beside the 3 dll contained in the bin.zip file. Explanation: GoodWindows to create a list of known rom have to run GoodXXX in a folder that contain no roms to get a xxxmiss.txt with the full list. So Goodwindows copy the goodxxx.exe in the bin folder by itself, run goodxxx.exe rename to create the xxxmiss.txt full load that file, and then delete the copied goodxxx.exe. So if you put your goodxxx.exe in the bin folder, it will copy it to itself, and then delete it.

Q. Is there a way to make GoodWindows exclude bad dump?
A. No, GoodWindows doesn't interfere with any of the goodxxx action, so it wont exclude the bad dump by itself. There is a way to make Goodxxx.exe exclude what you want. To do that read the document included with the goodtools.

Q. Why some feature are enabled for some system and not for other?
A. GoodWindows only enable feature that can actually be used by the latest goodxxx. Some GoodXXX are quite old (ex: Good5200 and don't work with new command like dirs). Also Convert is a GoodGen.exe option only.

Q. Can you support CuteFTP, LeechFTP, AbsoluteFTP, or any others?
A1. CuteFTP will be supported if I get smart enough to understand the queue file description that come in the CuteFTP help file. LeechFTP & AbsoluteFTP probably never, cause their queue file is encrypted (or written binarie) and there is no way for GoodWindows to know how to export them, unless their author email me with a description of their queue file. Getright have been suggested, could be used, but would be useless unless the roms are all in the same directory on the webserver, if you use getright as a ftp client, I higly suggest you to use LeapFTp or BulletProof ftp as ftp client. Fserve support probably never.
A2. If you have any other FTP client beside the one named above. Please email me the name (Master@emuhq.com) of the ftp client, and I'll check if I can.
